Welcome Graffiti

It’s been cold and rainy for weeks. Highs in the 60’s. I’m tired of hearing the furnace run. Still, some people managed to get down the the graffiti wall and do their thing.

Country Boots

Is it just me, or is there something seriously weird about this? I find myself morbidly fascinated.

Summer is Finally Here

We actually hit 80 degrees yesterday (Sunday). For weeks now we’ve been getting rain and highs in the 60’s. I’ve had to run the furnace as recently as Saturday. It’s so nice to warm up a bit. I’m sorry I missed a couple of days posting. I’ve been busy painting a house. I’ve got paint splatters on my hands and arms. My arms are so tired they are shaky. Still have one room to do the primer on, then we […]

13 Housing Stories.

Last week I talked about steps involved in buying a house. Some of the comments inspired me to tell a few stories about buying, owning, and renting. 1. The first place I lived once I moved out on my own was the dorms. I was a transfer student, had just spent a month in China, and chose the dorms because it saved me the hassle of looking for a place from hundreds of miles away when I was short on […]

Suzie’s House

is running late. Sorry, but I’m at one of those points where I have half a dozen choices for where to go from last week, and I can’t seem to decide. So, I’ll figure it out in the morning (it’s 12:14 am as I write this. but I still count that as night). Hopefully I’ll have it posted by noon.

Sorry I’m running so late. I DO intend to do this, but I’m buried in legal papers and looking at two tight deadlines right now.

Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins p. 29

They would be even more powerful if that pox epidemic hadn’t flattened their birthrate and made them so desperate for a new gene pool and breeders. Maybe they are militaristic, overly programmed, and somewhat lacking in a sense of humor. I got totally sucked in to the first two books, but it’s taking me a little longer to get into this one. Probably it’s just that it took me too long to get the copy. I AM enjoying it, even […]

Bella Diana by Ann Pino page… um…two?

Seems like lately I’ve been doing more online reading. There are some really fantastic serials and novels posted on people’s blogs – original works for free. Whee! So, anyway, this is what I’m reading right now. “There’s only so much we can do,” Harley pointed out. “It’s not like we’ve got qualified soldiers waiting in line to join us.” Want to read more? Check this out. MizB of Should Be Reading hosts Teaser Tuesday. Grab your current read, open to […]

Fwd: Old Men!!!

>Skinny Dipping > >A ‘funny’ for your enjoyment. > >An elderly man in Florida had owned a large farm for several years. >He had a large pond in the back, fixed up nicely: Picnic tables, >horseshoe courts, a volleyball court, and some apple and peach trees. > >The pond was properly shaped and fixed up for swimming. >One evening the old farmer decided to go down to the pond and look it >over, as he hadn’t been there in awhile. What’s Cooking?

What are you having for Thanksgiving dinner? I’m having turkey with two kinds of stuffing, candied yams, mash potatoes, rolls, pecan pie, Waldorf salad, and cranberry sauce. In fact, I’m busy making it right now.
