I pulled a long day yesterday, and got 6,000 words written, which put me over the finish line. Yippee!
Most of you probably didn’t notice, but for the last month I’ve been in my “writing cave”. I’ve cut way back on the amount of time I visit other blogs. The only places I commented were on blogs of people who came to visit me first. I had to do this in order to get the word count done. To those of you who hung in there with me, thank you!
I still have about 10,000 words to write, and a lot of revision to do before I turn this book over to my editor in January, so I’m not completely out of my cave yet. But I’ll be a little better about visiting you now.

Congratulations! I crossed early last week but as it has turned into two separate novels there is still a long way to go.
I’ve had that happen. The worst was when one book turned into four. Four concurrent. What a mess.

Congratulations, Alice, isn’t it just the greatest feeling to have achieved this! It’s a great motivator, I know I wouldn’t be past the fifth chapter of my new novel if I hadn’t done it this way. It usually takes me a year to write a book!
