Reviews

For Moving In

Seriously Reviewed said "You know? Every so often you read a story that starts a little slow on the first few pages and then.....BAM it just explodes! This was one of them for me."

Kaye's Book Review Page
on which she said The book is "short, sweet, light-hearted and just plain fun."

Vince at Philosophy of Romance said "Alice Audrey’s voice is fresh, feisty, full of surprises and always fun. The author also deals with real people having real problems and she does it in a very insightful way."

Nessa at Chrysalis Stage said "If you like sweet, fast-paced romance with a hot hero and all of the misunderstandings that two people can throw at each other, then you will love this story."

Night Owl Reviews didn't have anything nice to say about it. Hey, you can't win them all.

Brenda Talley of Romance Studio said " I recommend this book to anyone. It was a pleasure to read and I shall look for more of her work in the future. "

By Guta Bauer at Murphy's Library did it twice! Once in English and once in Portuguese. I'm assuming they both say, "Life goes on, choices need to be made and we can never let our past deny us of our future. That’s just some of the things we learn from this story. "

Thursday Thirteen #18: Careers I would like to have.

Maura asked on Romance Roundtable if you could have five parallel lives and a different career in each what careers would you pick.  I’m picking 13:1. Writer.  Of course.  I’m going with Accountant as my real-life career, for now.
2. Movie actress.
3. Singer in a Rock band.
4. African drummer.  What?  I have to get paid?  Ok, famous African drummer.  What do you mean there aren’t any rich and famous African style drummers?  It’s my alternate reality and I can make the world be anything I want.  So there.
5. Saint.  See #4.
6. Owner of a coffee shop.  I’d call it Alice’s Restaurant. :D
7. Real estate mogul.
8. Carpenter.  I can actually drive a nail straight.  I just can cut wood the right length.
9. Elven princess.  See #4.
10. Private Investigator
11. Alchemist.  Yep, #4 again.
12. Gentlewoman Farmer – the kind that owns the land and points and things get done.
13. Rocket Scientist.

  • What a great idea, Alice. I would sooooo be an alchemist!

  • I hope you get to try all of them. ;) Happy TT!

  • Oh, good GOD!

    Alice!

I was scrolling along your blog and saw one of your Flickr photos; an eyeball with a four fingers crawling out of the bottom lid!

    Yes, I’m howling!

I can’t concentrate. It’s late. Almost ten at night. I’m going to sleep soon.

    Must. Not. Think. Of eyeball.

Must think. Of something. To terrorize Alice with.

Okay, back to your 13 career choices. (Some very weird ones in there. Elvin princess? African drummer?)

I think I’d pick being either a movie actress, or a real estate mogul. Probably the real estate mogul, though. I don’t want to be famous, just rich.

    Good one, though!

  • Great List. In one parallel life I wouldn’t mind being Lara Croft…LOL

  • LOL! I love your list! I played African drums for a couple of months at Ren Fair. I got paid. It was a great job :)

  • I love real estate. I wouldn’t even have to be rich so long as I had enough money to do the playing around with remodels, locations, buying and selling… yeah!

I’ll give you Elvin Princess might be a little out there, but I’ll have you know like Tawny I have been paid to play. Ok, genereally I do the paying, and I’m no musician, but I did wrangle a couple of gigs.

I’d LOVE to be Lara Croft! What a great idea.

  • I want to be #s 3, 6, and 9 too! :)

  • I’d like to a be a fairie godmother. If I’d were I could help you with a coach, a ball dress and everything you needed for the elvian princess role. Hmm. I could help you fulfill any of your alternative careers. Happy TT!

  • Sasha Allgood

Hmm…I would combine 3 & 4 and be a drummer in a rock band. #12 sounds interesting, too. I’ve already been the Farm Hand that does all the stuff pointed at. I might be nice to be on the other side of the pointy finger for a change. :) Great list, Alice!

  • There is a world of difference between hand drums and kit drums – kit being what rock musician’s play. I love the first, and can’t handle the second. Most of the kit drummers I have known wouldn’t touch a hand drum.

Who wouldn’t rather point than pull weeds?
