Reviews

For Moving In

Seriously Reviewed said "You know? Every so often you read a story that starts a little slow on the first few pages and then.....BAM it just explodes! This was one of them for me."

Kaye's Book Review Page
on which she said The book is "short, sweet, light-hearted and just plain fun."

Vince at Philosophy of Romance said "Alice Audrey’s voice is fresh, feisty, full of surprises and always fun. The author also deals with real people having real problems and she does it in a very insightful way."

Nessa at Chrysalis Stage said "If you like sweet, fast-paced romance with a hot hero and all of the misunderstandings that two people can throw at each other, then you will love this story."

Night Owl Reviews didn't have anything nice to say about it. Hey, you can't win them all.

Brenda Talley of Romance Studio said " I recommend this book to anyone. It was a pleasure to read and I shall look for more of her work in the future. "

By Guta Bauer at Murphy's Library did it twice! Once in English and once in Portuguese. I'm assuming they both say, "Life goes on, choices need to be made and we can never let our past deny us of our future. That’s just some of the things we learn from this story. "

If you did a review of my book, let me know! I'll be glad to link to you, even if you didn't like the book.

A Random 13

1. I’m late with this post and have no good ideas for it and don’t feel like talking about my perpetually cluttered desk, so I’m going with the Off-the-top-of-my-head thing.

2. Why is it that my head is full of thought most of the time, but when I try to gab on to something specific it slips away like oily water?

3. Does that mean I’m dirty minded?

4. They say you reflect your environment.

5. Maybe, if I want to clear my head, I should clean the house.

6. That would involve moving all the clutter Mr. Al brings into the house.

7. Think he’d notice if the CD’s floating around without a home ended up in the trash?

8. Or his gargoyle collection?

9. Seems to me the clutter is not my fault.

10. Then again, I could probably get some of the papers off my desk.

11. Or at least deal with the pile of cat toys at my feet.

12. I remember when it was a pile of kids toys.

13. It always meant I wasn’t paying them enough attention.

ps, but it was talking with the kids last night that prevented me from doing my Thursday 13 post in the first place!

  • My husband and I have a “his and hers” attitude toward clutter. If he leaves something in one of “my” spaces, it gets moved to the nearest “his” space to do with as he will. Items left in common areas are the responsibility of whoever left them there. Sometimes I complain, but often I just shut up and wait to see what happens.

My husband left a hotel laundry bag on the floor in August, but since it’s not in my way and we haven’t had any company, I’ve kept quiet, wondering how long he’ll let it sit there. Time is running out, though. We have a house sitter coming next week when we go out of town, so I guess I’ll have to say something.

  • LOL!!! I can’t blame the Redneck for the clutter. We both do it. I think a clean house is the sign of no internet. LOL!!!!!

  • In answer to your question I have moderation on but your comment got caught in the spam filter. I fished it out.

Head full of thoughts or noise? When my head is a roar of noise it logjams. I like to spread out as I work but as mess expands, my productivity goes way down. I may never be a neatfreak, but I may eventually convert to neat.

  • Kids toys- specifically Legos and Barbie’s around here.

    Have a great Thursday!

  • It can sometimes be difficult to come up with T13 topics. Usually when I try to do the random type posts Colleen is so good at, my mind goes completely blank. No blank this week: it’s all about urban wildlife.

  • I’m definitely the “cluttered” one in my marriage. LOL! My poor hubby – I tend to ignore things until they’re practically falling on my head, then I do a purge to get it all out in one go.

Drives him crazy, but that’s how I’ve always been! Bless him.

    Happy TT!

  • Your husband collects gargoyles? That is SO cool.

  • Many, many years of marriage taught me that my wife did not clutter; every piece of her stuff was there or wherever for a purpose. Whereas everything I placed anywhere was clutter even to the extent of a newspaper picked up from where she placed it, read and returned to where she had put it in the first place. Mind you I had a personal clutterspot around my computer which in turn was inviolate…except that is for any clutter identified as mine (correctly or not) in the rest of the house would be relocated to my spot! Generally if I lost anything it would be placed there and was the first place I should have looked for it. Now she is gone it is much harder to find lost stuff, such as glasses, keys, wallet, diary, notes to myself and so on. I really miss her.

Cleaning up my desk helps unclutter my mind. Just one less thing to think about.

  • Clutter weighs me down. I go through periodic de-clutterings. In one now, in fact. Of course, I only have to deal with my own and my kids’ clutter at the moment.

  • My hubby is one who likes to fill every space too, if he can, which I resist.

I talked to my kid today too, good for us!

Now… about that gargoyle collection… any pix? :)

Which reminds me once in Pictionary, I mistook a gargoyle for a goiter, as in the lady had a humongous gargoyle on her neck. :)

    xo

  • Hahaha…cat toys. Yep, that’s the new kind of clutter around the house now. Plus, the cat has spread her domain into the space that was once the formal dining area. Not that we ever used it as it was intended.
