Reviews For Moving In
Seriously Reviewed said "You know? Every so often you read a story that starts a little slow on the first few pages and then.....BAM it just explodes! This was one of them for me."
Kaye's Book Review Page
on which she said The book is "short, sweet, light-hearted and just plain fun."
Vince at Philosophy of Romance said "Alice Audrey’s voice is fresh, feisty, full of surprises and always fun. The author also deals with real people having real problems and she does it in a very insightful way."
Nessa at Chrysalis Stage said "If you like sweet, fast-paced romance with a hot hero and all of the misunderstandings that two people can throw at each other, then you will love this story."
Night Owl Reviews didn't have anything nice to say about it. Hey, you can't win them all.
Brenda Talley of Romance Studio said " I recommend this book to anyone. It was a pleasure to read and I shall look for more of her work in the future. "
By Guta Bauer at Murphy's Library did it twice! Once in English and once in Portuguese. I'm assuming they both say, "Life goes on, choices need to be made and we can never let our past deny us of our future. That’s just some of the things we learn from this story. "

55 – “I Am From Poem” by Ben Ben’s English teacher assigned a series of writing assignments to the class. This is Ben’s first effort. In this one, he was supposed to write a poem that begins “I am from” (For those who don’t know, Ben is a fictional character in the Suzie’s House series.)
I am from
a dad who tried to kill somebody and ended up in jail
and a mom
who is more interested in adopting
my best friend
than in making
my birthday cake.
I’m becoming
strange
listening for stories at keyholes and
hiding my writing from my girlfriend.
I’m not sure what I’m doing.
Poor me.

The challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to write a story in exactly 55 words. Flash Fiction 55 is hosted by the G-man, a host with the most.

A melancholy poem – poor him, indeed.
Alice Audrey…
This was troubling!
That makes it GREAT!
You’ve evoked Emotion, thats the Idea.
Loved your 55 My Friend
Thanks for playing, and have a Kick Ass Week-End
Happy Easter
ugh…ben’s got a tough life…good on the teacher though getting him to write poetry though…having fun doing that with my son…
Poor Ben. I don’t think I ever got the story about his dad, though. I guess that’s somewhere long before the place where I began reading. Good excuse to go back and look.
It’s part of the Boys Will Be Boys arc. You can find it on the Suzie’s House page. Warning, it’s a long arc.
… wow. sounds like what one might hear on the news!
Oh, my, I think Ben is a troubled boy. Hope he doesn’t grow up to be Dexter.
I love this! It really flows and rings true
until the last line- really seemed disingenuous to the rest. Somehow it did not feel in keeping with that voice…Maybe
you might try a comma above it ? thanks for sharing and posting. I guess I was really struck by the end.
Actually, I’m thinking it should be deleted entirely. The poem kind of shifted out from under me, going where I hadn’t planned on going. The last line was written first. It’s one of those revision “kill your darlings” cases, though I told myself it was justified because it’s in Ben’s voice. Hmmmmm…. actually, I feel an episode in the serial coming on. This could be good.
As poetry I think Izzy hit my critique as well. That last line just didn’t hit it. BUT as a part of a larger novel, serial length work with the conditions explained, first effort, teacher assigned…it’s very very good and a great 55 to boot.
