The river is running high again this year. It looked pretty much the same last year, but the news was full of stories about flooding in town. This year, not a peep. I’m not sure if that means we didn’t get any flooding, or if it wasn’t enough to be worth talking about.
It’s been cold too. Saying there is still snow on some of the mountains isn’t going to impress anyone who lives in the mountains, but usually by this time of the year it’s all gone. Will it impress anyone if I point out that my furnace is still running?
Personally, I like to sweat in the summer. When it’s so cold out that paint won’t dry, I’ve got a problem. I’d give up hope for it, but as soon as I do, I’ll probably swelter.
How’s your weather? Normal?

That’s weird because our winter has been mild this year in NZ. I haven’t started wearing my heavy jumpers yet, and our gas heater is still sitting in the cupboard.
So that means you are running hot too, just in a winter-time kind of way.
yesterday it was hot…and humid…been wet so when the heat hit it filled the air with damn heat….today though is starting cool…and nice…but hot later…
damn heat or damp heat? Freudian slip, maybe?
We’re anticipating a heat index over 100 today and what’s more, the a/c in my building isn’t working this morning. You’re welcome to come down here and sweat all you like.
Can’t you send some of it up here?
This actually comforts me. I was starting to think in terms of ice ages and glaciers.
All over the freekin’ map.
Our weather this year has been anything but normnal. First we had July temps in March. Then we had a hard freeze in April, and since then it’s pretty much been hot, HOT and HOTTER. We are now about four inches below the norm for rain this time of year.
In fact, Southern Wis hasn’t seen any significant rain in two or three weeks. It all keeps going to the north of us, where they really don’t need it right now. Not saying we want a deluge the likes of what Duluth got last week, but would an inch or two be too much to ask for?
