I stayed at a part of the Playa Grande Resort called The Ridge. It’s aptly named as everything – the apartments, the pools, and the bar and grill are built on a narrow ridge. The views are incredible. Whether you are looking East or West, there is an expanse to admire.

To get to it, you have to cross through a breezeway. I crossed over it several times without really thinking about the fact it is suspended five stories above the ground. I was simply enjoying the view.

The only place that struck me as toe-tingle worthy was one of the swimming pools.

Once I started thinking about it, though, it occurred to me that someone who is afraid of heights might not enjoy the luxury of The Ridge. There are so few place on it that don’t involved heights.
Would you enjoy a place like this?

In 1972 I had to climb the Radar mast while out to sea in 15 foot rollers, since then I figured A)being low man on the totem pole sucks and B) the higher you climb the better the views is.
Getting up high in something unstable like that would terrify me.
Looks lovely. I like the pattern on that dome! As for the pool, I want to swim in this one: http://poolseverywhere.blogetery.com/2011/03/29/the-hanging-pool-in-dallas/
I hate swimming, but I’d hit the water for that one!
Being able to look out from underwater might be fun, but it doesn’t look that big to me.
Not really afraid of heights, but still…I don’t think I would like that breezeway or the swimming pool.
The swimming pool was actually kind of disappointing once I was in it because there’s a over-flow catch basin running all the way around that keeps you from being able to look straight down. It’s more toe-tingly looking at it than being in it.
Holy cow, Girl!! The places that men build is amazing. You got to stay in a piece of art amidst scenery that was made by the angels. And nice to see The Ridge is built on rock — a real keeper. Mudslide mansions in CA — not so much, poor folks.
I’m all tow-tingly now….. whatever that may be.
A new expression on me.

Gah! Fixing spelling mistake now.
As long as there is a half-height barrier between me and the drop, I don’t mind heights at all. And that’s a beautiful place.
The times that come to mind as the worst for heights that I’ve had all involved construction work on my house and ladders. I think it’s the lack of railing.
Wow!! the view is beautiful…but I don’t think I can enjoy such vacation, I am afraid of height. I couldn’t even cross the street using crossing bridge (I don’t know if such bridge exist in your country) without feeling so tense.
