In my case it's a manuscript, any manuscript, that I am working on.

It typically takes me from two weeks to six months to write a rough draft.  I then set the book aside for anything ranging from days to years.  This lets me look at the manuscript with fresh eyes.

Then I indulge in some revision.

Revision can be as minor as a little rewording here and there.  I call that polishing.  More often it involves shuffling, deleting, replacing, or creating scenes.  That's what I typically mean by revision.  Now and then I will have to work on underlying structure.  I have  rebuilt a book from the ground up more than once.  I call this a deep revision.

When I'm done with a book I'll put a link to the first chapter through the title. For instance, if you click on Zackly Right in the box above you will see the frist chapter.   I hope you enjoy them.

Zackly Right

Getting into Zack Pennimon's apartment by pretending to be a stripper is easy for private investigator Mar Dunbaughro.  Getting back out is another matter.

Zack thinks he's protecting her from the men who murdered his father, but Mar is no helpless damsel.  Distress?  She laughs in the face of rampaging elephants, dances on the barrel of her Glock, and falls passionately in love with Zack.  She will take care of his little stalking problem, even if it's the last thing either of them ever do.
