13 Origami Hearts

The Girl made origami hearts for what she calls Single’s Awareness Day. They double as bookmarks as they fit in the corner of the book. I think they are cute.

Suzie’s House 298 : Homework

“Cumbersome.” “What? Going to school with me?” Lisa glanced over at Tracy as they walked. They shuffled along wet sidewalks, in no hurry. Most of the snow had melted over the weekend along with all of Lisa’s plans. “Isn’t that a great word? Come Brrrr Some. It makes me think of cucumbers.”

The Serialists of February 13

Featured Author: Susan Helene Gottfried with a Shape Shifter episode. I told her she could link to the Roadie Poet post from right before, but I’m not about to complain about a new Kerri post. Thanks for taking time away from your editing work to treat us. This is the hub for The Serialists, a meme for people who post original, serialized fiction on their blogs. Vengeance in Death by JD Robb p.233

He opened his mouth, a dozen vile and furious words searing his tongue. It was the cool. utterly confident gleam in her eyes that stopped him. He turned away and braced both fists on the desk. “I don’t care for the fact you have a point.” Almost done with this one. Love it. MizB of Should Be Reading hosts Teaser Tuesday. Kasabian

On Saterday, Novroz introduced me to this band. Actually, she just dropped their name, but that’s enough for me. I youtubed them right away. This is the first video I pulled up.

Grass is Greener

“I know why you and your family like to visit me. It’s because my grass is greener.” She grinned at her brother. “Yep. No argument there.” “Wait. You aren’t supposed to agree. I was only kidding. Flash Fiction 55 is hosted by […]

Suzie’s House 297 : Concession Confession

“I had no idea we sounded like that.” Kate didn’t sound like she was pleased. Ben didn’t know Kate all that well. If it weren’t for Gene and Tracy’s band, he wouldn’t even have learned her name. Right now he wished she and all the others in the band would just go away.

Vengeance in Death by JD Robb p.134

In this quote, Roarke (who is extremely rich) told McNab (who is a technophile) to call a Roarke Industries place to order a state of the art unit – something not available to the public yet. “Money doesn’t just talk. It sings.” MizB of Should Be Reading hosts Teaser Tuesday. Grab your current read, open to a random page, share a couple of “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page. Neighbors

We’ve had some unusual visitors lately. They are scattered all over town. Ok, I’ll admit, deer aren’t really all that unusual out here. The woods are full of them, and you see them on the highway entirely too often. But generally you don’t see them wandering around from yard to yard downtown. In fact, I’ve gone years without having a single deer wander into my yard. This year they are all over town. I have no idea why. It hasn’t […]
