Jack: How come there’s only one black sock in the dryer?
Jill: Don’t ask me. There were two when I put them in. I’m sure of it.
Jack: Well the dryer must have eaten one, ’cause there’s only one in there now.
Jill: I know. It’s like there’s a sock-eating black hole inside.
Jack: Darling, looks to me like there might be more than one.

Today’s theme is black

Erma Bombeck wrote a column years ago she titled “Mathematics, Sex and Socks”. It was all about this theme – missing socks. Nice capture.
Here’s my take on black.
Dark forces are afoot. Now I think socks should come in threes so we can offer one as a votive to the dark lord of socks!
A great take as usual
It sure does seem like a black hole sometimes. It is worse when it spits them back with holes.
I always wondered where they went!
My black is posted here
My dryer only eats white socks.

hehehe! that’s quite cool! happy weekend!
Yeh, where do they go??? Maybe that is the answer. I like this take on the theme! Enjoy your weekend.
My machine definitely eats socks, i have a big pile of ones without their partners!
heh heh heh!!!
Mine’s up too.
In 6th grade we were put in groups to come up with commercials as part of a study of advertising. My group’s commercial was for the Bermuda Triangle Washing Machine. I made a cardboard washing machine with a false bottom. It ate my socks and then my “husband” when he went looking for said socks.
All washing machines are, to some degree, Bermuda Triangle machines. That’s why my husband makes me do the laundry.
i had thought of a socks theme, but alas, I have no black ones.
LOL–I think there is a critter in there.
