Daylight Shavings Time

I actually like daylight savings time. Without it the sun would be rising around 5am in the middle of summer. But now is not that time.

Because daylight savings time kicked in, we are once again getting up and leaving the house in the dark. I’m a night owl. I really, really hate getting up before the sun rises. I don’t mind getting up with it so much, but to have to leave in the dark is hard on me.

Worse yet, instead of getting into it gradually, the way we naturally do as Winter progresses, we are slammed with it all of a sudden. We’ve been running late for over a week now when we were fine before. All because of the sudden change.

And I can’t help wondering why we can’t wait until the end of April? By then, it wouldn’t be a problem. All I can think is that the law makers live too far South to understand why it should come later in the year.
