5 Min. For Mom Blog Party

Count me in one the Blog Party!

Ultimate Blog Party 2010

When I first saw the Five Minutes for Mom blog party notice over on Calico Crazy’s site, I thought it couldn’t have anything to do with me because my site is all about me being a Romance Writer, rather than a mom. I mean, this isn’t exactly a family-oriented site.

Except it kind of is. Not intentionally, but stuff creeps in.

For instance, I have twice posted lists of things my kids have said; here and here. In case you’re wondering, I’m the terrified mother of The Girl, who turns 13 in a few weeks, and The Boy, who is 15 now.

Actually, though they worry me silly, being Mom to a couple of teenagers isn’t nearly as bad as I expected. I don’t really mind buying the school candy, which I just gave away, or giving rides, or showing off their art work. Their lives are a big part of mine, so it isn’t too surprising they should make the occasional appearance.

There are a few other ways in which my blog is family oriented. I have posted years worth of recipes, many of which are perfect for the desperately over extended mother. I show some silly stuff like the Battle of the Peeps. The two most beloved characters from Suzie’s House – the serial I post here every Friday – are teenage boys. I even feature a regular column by my husband.

All right, so I’m stretching it. So what? With all those prizes to drool over and the easy rules for joining in, I’m going to party anyway. If you haven’t joined in yet, you can check it out here.

Which do I like best?
