Thirteen Frightening Words

I’m continuing my spooky theme. Here are 13 words to give one pause.

1. Failure. It’s even worse when applied to one’s children than when applied to oneself.

2. Vaccination. Particularly when done at WalMart.

3. Revision. But only when used in a note from one’s editor.

4. Movie. This time of year brings out the worst. Also some of the best.

5. Late. No, thankfully, I’m not pregnant.

6. Caught. As Mr. Al says, “Who knew we’d have to sneak around more now than when we were teens?”

7. Accident. Particularly in conjunction with travel words like car, plane, or train.

8. Request. Especially if one isn’t ready yet.

9. Venom. Snake or gossip, they’re about the same.

10. Short. Particularly in conjunction with the words, “of cash”.

11. Economy. I guess that’s kind of a continuation of 10.

12. Rotting. This one was the top of The Girl’s list.

13. Death. That one’s from The Boy.

Edited 10/27/10 7:12pm I can’t believe I overlooked the most frightful word. Teenager.
