55 – Up

So hard, that first step,
the one that must proceed
a weary lifetime of upward effort.

It comes with the admission
that change is not inevitable
when it means change for the better.
It is a decision, a choice, a requirement.

Once begun, commitment sealed,
it’s only a matter of
placing one foot before the next
Over and over and over.

Again, my 55 is reflecting Suzie’s House. Oh well.
